lately.

The coin is dated around 1016 - 1035AD and is shown in Seaby's 1159.
Many Thanks to WWDC member Terry Waghorn for sending me the pictures
below.

I think the coin in the picture is the reverse and obverse of an Edward
1st Farthing dated from between 1272 - 1307.

Julian found the coins pictured below with his XLT on a recent
Wanderers dig.

We think the coin is an Edward the 2nd dated from 1307 - 1329, Julian
was lucky to find the cut 1/4 shown above which was lost again whilst
showing it around, after a few cars were moved he found it again with his
probe.
Club member Tim Chandler made the finds below at a recent
Buckinghamshire dig with his Minelab Explorer.

The hammered silver is an Edward 4th two pence dated 1461 - 1485, also
shown here is a trade token dated 1663.
Many thanks to Fred for sending me the 2 scans below of the hammered
silver coin he found on our recent Broughton dig.

The coin appears to be an Edward 4th Groat dated 1471 - 1483 (Seaby's
2096)
The 2 coins pictured below were found by WWDC member Ray on one of our
digs on the Herts / Bucks border, they were Ray's first hammered coin
finds for over 22 years. Ray tells me he last found a hammered silver coin
in 1978 with his C-Scope BFO 10.

The pictures above show the obverse and reverse of Ray's Queen
Elizabeth 1st penny dated around 1580 - 1600.
The pictures above show the obverse and reverse of Ray's Charles 2nd
four-pence dated 1679. Thanks to Brian Taylor for correctly identifying
this coin for me.
Congratulations to you Ray and thank you for letting me show your
finds.

The lovely hammered silver coin pictured below was found recently by
WWDC member Terry, the coin is a Henry 3rd penny and is dated at between
1251 - 1254.
It is different to others you may have seen before because this one was
minted in Dublin with the purpose of financing Henry's French exploits.
Thank you for sending me the scan Terry.

Above is a Charles 1st shilling dated 1640.

The 2 pictures above were only a small selection of the finds made by
Julian and Doris this weekend.
I would like to thank Weekend Wanderers member Mike Chambers who has
been kind enough to send me the excellent scans of the coins below.
The coin pictured below was Mike`s first Hammered which was found with
his Tesoro Silver Sabre and dug on a golf course construction site near
Oxford. Mike thinks this coin is a Scottish Alexander.

Many thanks to Bob Gordon who E-Mailed me with the correct ID for this
coin, Bob says " this is a penny of
James lll 1460-88 and is a coin of the light issue of 1475. (seaby

Mike also found the coin below near Oxford with his trusty Laser B1.

Mike thinks this coin is of Henry III which would date it 1216 - 1272,
can any one positively identify this coin. All e-mail will be passed
on to Mike.
